Mary Caroline "Carol" (Smith) Jenkins
daughter of Owen Sr. and Allie Quigley
Allie Quigley is shown here (oldest in the center back) with her siblings. The Quigley's lived in Waring, TX just northeast of Boerne on the Guadalupe River. The train from Port Lavaca went through San Antonio and right in front of Allie's house (her dad was a Railroad Man). Owen Smith Jr. as a school child would spend summers with Quigley grandparents. Even though the town depot was about a 100 yards down the line, they would stop the train in front of his grandparents house and drop him off there!! A lot of people from the area would take the train down to the coast to Port Lavaca and surroundings for the beach, water, fishing etc. Perhaps that is how Owen and Allie met?
Mary Caroline "Carol" (Smith) Jenkins on right; perhaps Allie (Quigley) Smith on left?
